TIFIE SAMOA
TIFIE Samoa started in the spring of 2009 after Doctors Marv and Lori Allen approached TIFIE with their desire to create sustainability for their humanitarian work in Samoa. Rheumatic Heart Disease is a disease that affects many of the children in Samoa, however, if recognized it is easily treated and cured with a shot of penicillin. The Allens have travelled to Samoa multiple times over the last two years and have run screening clinics, serving over 4000 children. Eighty children have been diagnosed with the disease and consequently cured because of the clinics.

To continue their work in Samoa, the Allens realized that they needed to partner with an organization that could help them create a sustainable model. They have plans to continue with the screening clinics and to expand them into mobile nurse units that can travel around the islands to remote villages. To generate the necessary funds to realize this sustainability, they are creating businesses in Samoa to sell Goal Zero Solar Energy products. A percentage of the profits will go to TIFIE Samoa.
