Pitshiou has worked for Tifie DRC for over 2 years, first as a painter, and currently as a supervisor in our brick enterprise. Pitshiou is married and has a 3 year old daughter, Jaila. Since working for Tifie, he feels that he has had the opportunity to learn how to manage individuals, leadership skills, planning and purchasing foresight, and has ‘cultivated the spirit of sacrifice’. He appreciates the people he works with and says that collaboration with his colleagues “occurs very well.” He congratulates Tifie on the regularity in the payment of their wages to employees. (In Kinshasa, it is not uncommon for companies to withhold payment from their employees for months at a time.) His supervisors commend him for his reliability and the commitment that he shows to his work and to Tifie. His supervisors recognize that with the opportunity to grow, Pitshiou has developed into a great manager, who successfully leads a team of 12 people. Pitshiou's story is an example of one of the goals of Tifie enterprises: to provide opportunities to develop individuals so that they can become successful and independent.
Pitshiou’s Suggestion: He wishes for the addition of other brick machines which can make it possible to diversity the production while keeping the same model. He proposes even a variety of four or five models and color varieties. |
